Make Bracket Picks
Before you can enter picks, you need to have joined the pool. Picks save automatically, there's no separate submit button, so you can leave and come back at any time before things lock.
Picking winners
Open the bracket from your pool. Each matchup shows two teams (or a "TBD" slot if the matchup hasn't been seeded yet).
- Click the team you think will win a matchup.
- Trofeo saves that pick right away. You'll see a saving indicator change to a saved checkmark in the header.
- If your pool fills out the whole bracket up front, picking a winner speculatively advances that team into the next round's matchup so you can keep picking forward. Those advanced teams are marked as speculative until the real result comes in.
- If your pool is round-by-round instead, later rounds stay blank until the actual results seed them. You can't get ahead of the real tournament in this mode.
Some slots can't be picked yet no matter which mode you're in. A slot fed by the group stage (like "1A" or "2B") stays TBD until the group stage actually finishes, since knockout seeding comes from the real tournament standings, not your own group picks. A slot marked as one of the "best 3rd-placed teams" works the same way.
On mobile, use the round tabs above the bracket to jump to a specific round. Tapping a round title (on desktop, clicking it) also lets you focus the view on that round and everything after it, click it again to see the whole bracket.
Can you change a pick after saving? Yes, as long as the matchup hasn't started. Round-by-round picks lock individually once that specific game kicks off, a later game in the same round stays editable until its own kickoff. In full-bracket mode, your whole bracket locks together once the knockout stage begins. Once a matchup locks, clicking it no longer does anything, and if you're viewing someone else's bracket it's always read-only.
If you'd rather not click through every matchup, look for the Auto Fill button (with a shuffle icon) to fill in remaining picks randomly. You can still click any team afterward to override an auto-filled pick, up until it locks.

Champion and groups
Above the bracket, a banner lets you pick the team you think will win the whole tournament. Use the search box to filter by team name, then click a team's logo to select it. The pick saves immediately and the banner collapses to show your selection with an edit pencil, click the pencil to reopen the search and change your pick. This pick locks once the tournament starts; after that you'll only see whether you got it right.
If your pool has a group stage, you'll also see a set of group cards. For each group:
- Click a team to rank it. Your first click marks that team 1st place, your next click on a different team marks it 2nd, and so on down through however many teams the group has.
- Click an already-ranked team again to clear its rank and re-rank it.
- Once only one unranked team is left in a group, Trofeo places it in the last remaining spot for you automatically.
Each group saves as soon as its ranking is complete, and a small counter shows how many groups you've finished out of the total. You can use the Auto Fill (shuffle) option here too, it randomly ranks every group you haven't locked in yet, and you can still click through and adjust any of those rankings afterward. Once a group's real games start, that group's cards lock and stop responding to clicks.
