Connect your pool to Slack
Trofeo can post pool updates straight into a Slack channel so your group doesn't have to keep checking email or the site for notifications. Here's how to connect it and confirm it's working.
Prerequisites: you need edit access to the pool's workspace (owners and editors qualify) and permission to authorize app installs in your Slack workspace, since Slack will ask you to approve the connection and pick a channel.
Connecting
- Open your pool and go to the Settings tab.
- Find the Slack notifications option and select Connect Slack.
- Slack opens an authorization screen. Approve the request and choose the channel you want pool updates posted to. Trofeo only asks for permission to post via an incoming webhook, it does not request access to your broader Slack workspace.
- Slack redirects you back to your pool's Settings tab. If the connection succeeded, the page reflects that Slack is now connected and notifications are enabled for that channel.
If something goes wrong, the Settings tab will show why: the authorization was denied, the connection wasn't completed on Trofeo's end, or you don't have edit access to the pool. In any of those cases, select Connect Slack again to retry.
Each pool connects to one Slack channel at a time. Reconnecting and picking a different channel replaces the previous webhook.

Testing
Once Slack shows as connected, confirm it's actually posting before you rely on it:
- In the same Slack settings section, select Send test message.
- Check the channel you selected during setup. You should see a message like "Test from [Pool name] - notifications are wired up."
If the test fails, you'll see an error explaining why, most commonly that the stored webhook URL is no longer valid. Reconnect Slack from the Settings tab to get a fresh webhook, then send another test message.
