About pool notifications and integrations
Trofeo can post updates about your pool, like leaderboard changes and tournament moments, to the places your group already talks. This article explains what's available and where to turn it on. For the details of connecting a specific service, see that integration's own setup guide.
Available integrations
Every pool supports email notifications by default. Beyond email, you can connect any combination of:
- Slack, using an incoming webhook URL from your Slack workspace.
- Discord, using an incoming webhook URL from a Discord server.
- Microsoft Teams, either through a one-click connection to your Teams account or by pasting a webhook URL from a Teams channel connector.
- Telegram, by connecting a chat or group through Trofeo's Telegram bot.
- Custom webhooks, so you can pipe pool events into your own systems (a bot, an internal dashboard, anything that can receive an HTTPS POST).
Each channel is independent: you can turn on as many as you like for a single pool, and each one only fires once it's been verified as properly connected, not just because a field has something typed into it. A "Connected" indicator confirms a channel is live, and each channel has its own way to send a test notification before you rely on it.
A few things worth knowing about how connections are validated:
- Slack and Discord both expect a webhook URL issued by that service. A URL from any other host won't be accepted.
- Microsoft Teams accepts either an authorized connection or a webhook URL from a supported Microsoft webhook host.
- Custom webhooks accept any public HTTPS URL. Local or internal addresses are rejected, since Trofeo needs to reach the endpoint from the internet.
- Telegram connects through a short handshake: you open a link to Trofeo's bot from inside Telegram, and the chat binds to your pool automatically once you complete it there.
Where to configure
Notification integrations are configured per pool, not account-wide. Open your pool and go to its Integrations tab. From there you can toggle each channel on or off, paste in the credentials or webhook URL it needs, and send a test message to confirm it's working before you trust it for real updates.
You can toggle on any combination of:
- Slack, using an incoming webhook URL from your Slack workspace.
- Discord, using an incoming webhook URL from a Discord server.
- Microsoft Teams, either through a one-click connection to your Teams account or by pasting a webhook URL from a Teams channel connector.
- Telegram, by connecting a chat or group through Trofeo's Telegram bot.
- Custom webhooks, so you can pipe pool events into your own systems (a bot, an internal dashboard, anything that can receive an HTTPS POST).
Because each integration lives on the pool itself, different pools you run can post to different Slack channels, different Discord servers, or different Telegram chats, whatever matches where that pool's group actually hangs out.
