Create your first prediction pool

A pool is the group prediction game you set up for one tournament: your friends, coworkers, or office pick winners and scores, and a leaderboard tracks who gets to brag. Here's how to build your first one, from picking a tournament to sending the join link.

Before you start: you'll need a Trofeo.live account and be signed in. If you're creating this pool inside an existing group or project, open the "Create Pool" flow from there so the pool gets linked to it automatically.

Pick a tournament

Go to My Pools and select Create Pool. You'll land on a form with a tournament dropdown that only lists tournaments that are live or upcoming, since there's no point predicting something that's already finished. Live tournaments are listed ahead of upcoming ones, so if you came from a "Start a pool" link on a specific tournament page, that tournament is already selected for you.

Whether the pool is free or paid depends on how many pools you've already created, not on the tournament itself:

• Your first pool is free, for up to 10 players.
• If you already have a pool, any additional pool needs a paid plan before it's created. You'll pick a player-count tier and check out first, and the pool is created once payment goes through.
• If you're a platform admin, you skip the paid step entirely and can create as many pools as you like for free.

If the tournament you want isn't in the list, it's either already over or hasn't been added yet. There's a way to request tournaments from the Trofeo.live homepage if yours is missing.

Checkpoint: you've got a tournament selected and you know whether this pool will be free or require picking a plan.

Name and configure it

Give the pool a name. This is what shows at the top of the pool for everyone you invite, so make it something your group will recognize, like "Office March Madness" or "Family US Open Pool."

Next, choose how predictions work:

• Prediction mode: round by round, where participants submit picks as each round comes up, or full bracket upfront, where they fill in the entire bracket before the tournament starts. This choice only appears for bracket-style tournaments. Season-format tournaments (a weekly slate rather than a knockout bracket) skip this step, since there's no bracket to fill in upfront.
• Predictions type: what participants actually pick. This is winner only, exact score, or both winner and score. Some tournaments have this locked by the tournament organizer, in which case this section won't show and everyone predicts the way the organizer set it up.

If your pool is one of the additional, paid ones, you'll also see a plan chooser here. Plans are priced by player count, it's a one-time payment rather than a subscription, and you can raise your player limit later if you outgrow it.

Checkpoint: you've got a pool name, a prediction mode (if applicable), and a prediction type selected. If you're on the paid flow, you've picked a plan.

Share it

Submit the form. If your pool is free, it's created right away and you're taken straight to it. If it's a paid pool, you're sent to checkout first, and the pool is created as soon as payment succeeds.

Once you're on your pool's page, copy the join link and send it to your group, whether that's a group chat, an office channel, or wherever your people already argue about sports. Everyone needs to submit their predictions before the tournament (or the relevant round) locks, so send that link early. From there, scores and standings update automatically as results come in, and the leaderboard does the rest.
